The committee was formed based on a charge by former President Michael Schwartz (2001-2009)
to design a strategic, inclusive, effective and meaningful planning process
to guide Cleveland State University into its next phase of growth and
development.
After three years of planning and deliberation, the
University has initiated a new collaborative strategic
planning process - Vision Unlimited, that has been approved by both Faculty
Senate and the Administration.
The University Strategic Planning Committee has 11
members, five administrators appointed by the President,
five faculty members appointed by the Faculty Senate
Steering Committee and one student representative.The process continues utilizing an annual review.

ONGOING. The University Strategic Planning
Committee (USPC) is a permanent committee of the
University charged with the responsibility of developing, reviewing, and revising the strategic plan on an ongoing basis. COLLABORATIVE. The USPC, comprised of
faculty, administrators and students, worked
to develop goals, strategies, and tactics that
are good for the entire University. The resultant
plan is a University plan. |
ideas as various campus constituencies
shared their views and perspectives on the future
of CSU, Vision Unlimited recommends and annual
review session where campus leadership can interact
face-to-face to build a better University.
FEEDBACK FROM STAKEHOLDERS. Group and individual meetings, guests attending planning meetings, surveys, and special events were some of the strategies used o elicit feedback from University stakeholders: the Board of Trustees, Faculty Senate, students, academic and non-academic administration, Budget Committee, Capital Planning Committee, Program Review Committees, other University committees, alumni, the community, and Visiting Committees. OPEN AND TRANSPARENT. The USPC posted its activities for review and comment on its own webpage, established and e-mail address for questions and suggestions, and kept the University informed of its progress through campus news articles and Faculty Senate and administrative briefings. |
