It provides financial support to CSU students studying in China or Taiwan, or students from China or Taiwan studying at CSU. It also supports CSU Faculty members doing research in China or Taiwan.

This Fund is to honor Professor John A. Chao for his excellent services to the universty community. He was internationally recognized for his scholarly work, especially for his dedication in establishing collaborative relations between CSU and various Chinese universities. He was much loved and highly respected by his colleagues and students.

The Scholarship Fund is established with gifts from faculty, staff, and friends of Professor John A. Chao. For CSU Faculty and Staff, you can designate your gift via the Faculty and Staff Appeal Donation Card with the John A. Chao gift account number 20358-80351. For the others, you can simply send your contribution to the John A. Chao Scholarship Fund Committee:
